What our picks are based on
Our picks are research-based, not hands-on tested. We read the manufacturer's listing and documentation, compare specifications across products, and check safety and regulatory points against primary sources such as government and paediatric guidance, linked on the page that uses them.
Where a maker says a bib is BPA-free, food-grade or organic, we report that as the manufacturer's claim and say so. We check a certification against its issuer where one exists.
The selection checklist
- Fit and coverage: published size range, neck adjustability, and whether the style covers chest and lap.
- Material: what it is made of and what the maker states about it.
- Closure: snaps, hook-and-loop or pull-on, and how many small parts there are.
- Cleaning: machine washable or wipe-clean, as stated by the maker.
- Catcher or pocket: whether the design is meant to catch food, and its stated depth.
- Pack size and variety: what you get in the listing.
- Availability: every product is a live listing we live on Amazon.ca on the date logged.
What you won’t see here
No prices, star ratings or Amazon review text, because they go stale and Amazon's program rules restrict them. No numeric scores, because a score implies testing we haven’t done. No lab results, awards or expert quotes unless a real, named source provides them and we link it.
How we choose what to list
We start from Amazon's Baby, Feeding and Bibs categories and manufacturer pages. We shortlist for relevance to the page, availability, a spread of price tiers, reputable brands and a range of pack sizes. We then keep only listings that load and match their title on the day we check. Anything we can’t verify is removed.
Editorial independence
Brands can’t pay for placement. Commission rates don’t affect rank. If that ever changes, this page will say so before anything else does.
Corrections policy
Email hello@baby-bibs.com with the page and the problem. We verify against the original source, correct confirmed errors promptly and update the page's review date. We don’t quietly rewrite a claim without checking it.
Frequently asked questions
Do you hands-on test bibs?
No. Picks are research-based, from manufacturer specifications and cited sources, and every page says so.
Why are there no prices?
Prices change constantly and go stale. The Amazon listing shows the current price and availability.
Why are there no star ratings or scores?
Ratings and numeric scores would imply testing we haven’t done, and Amazon restricts reuse of its review data.
Can a brand pay to be ranked higher?
No. Rankings are editorial and are never paid for.
